I wonder

Is heading to Oak Cliff for "soul food" on MLK day akin to white couples adopting from Ethiopia prominently displaying a picture of their one black friend when I come to their home for pre-adoption interviews? Maybe I should have found a more legitimate way to celebrate the holiday, such as actually getting up early enough to attend a MLK day parade, or reading some of his amazing speeches. I did semi-quote some paraphrased lines from "I Have a Dream" on our way to the Bishop Arts District in Oak Cliff, but maybe that just makes it worse.
