Answering the question that should have been asked

Rather than the one that was. That's what I'm resolving to do in the future.

  1. Mostly, I just wanted to mark the idea in my memory because I think it's such a great principle - very applicable to missionary work, media/public relations, and personal interactions. It's closely related to the principle behind Pahoran's response to Moroni - he was able to see past all the insults and threats and respond to the emotion behind Moroni's attack, thus unifying rather than taking offense. Golden.
